Imamura Tenshudo
Imamura Tenshudo is located in the Ima district of Otoarai-cho, where many people lived who kept their faith as hidden Christians in the Edo period. It is a brick church that is rare in Japan and was built in 1913, more than 100 years ago. It is said to be the masterpiece of Yosuke Tetsukawa, a master of church architecture. The twin-tower brick church was designated as a national important cultural property in 2015 as it is a very rare building in Japan. Many people are now working to protect it for the future.
