This ginkgo tree is located in the Oyabu Mishima Shrine. The shrine was built in 1244 by Yajiro Ietsuna Nishimuta, who was appointed as a landowner in this area, in Hiruike, a treasure trove of agricultural land, with a spirit from the Mishima Taisha Shrine in his native Izu. The Oyabu Mishima Shrine Tewai is designated as a cultural asset of the town.
