Satsuki Matsubara

Satsukimatsubara, which stretches 5 km along the coastline from Kaminato to Kamihachi in the northern part of Munakata City, is one of the most scenic spots in the prefecture, with blue sea, white sandy beaches, and black pine trees over 200 years old, and has been selected as one of the "100 best white sand and green pine trees in Japan. Most of the 120 hectares of the national forest is covered with black pine trees, and is designated as a Type 1 Special Area, the most important in Genkai National Park, where you can see Okinoshima Island on clear days.
