Tsurugidake, which rises 125 meters to the southeast of the town of Kurate, and is located a few minutes' drive from the Kurate Interchange. The fireflies on the eastern slope of Tsurugidake appear every year from late May to early June around 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., attracting many visitors during this period. The finely flickering light of the fireflies, combined with the fantastic atmosphere of the surroundings, attracts many visitors.
