Fukuoka City
Observatory at Oyamazumi Shrine Site Park
Oyamazumi Shrine is the god of the mountains and was once the guardian deity of the Sawara Coal Mine (Meinohama Coal Mine), which stretched to the north of Mt. Atago. This park was created in 2015 as part of the centennial commemoration of the founding of Sawaraise Coal Mining Co.
The observatory, located adjacent to Atago Shrine in the park, offers a beautiful night view of the city, including Fukuoka Tower.
