Fukuchi Town
Shiraito Waterfall
This 25-meter waterfall is located in Ueno Gorge in Kitakyushu National Park. The view of the water splashing and falling all at once is never boring. In summer, many people visit to cool off. The haiku poet Shida Noppo, a student of Matsuo Basho and one of the ten philosophies of Basho, visited this area with his students in 1728, and Aoyama Fumio, a student of Noppo and the chief priest of Taga Shrine, wrote a book titled "Orizutsuji (Orizalea)" about the clear waters.
In addition, visitors can enjoy bathing in the clear waters of the Ueno Gorge, making it a perfect spot for a hot summer.
